WalkSutra Physiotherapy

For others…
Sometimes it feels as though the knee catches or locks.
Walking no longer feels natural.
Then comes the MRI report.
“Meniscus Tear.”
For many people, those two words immediately raise new questions.
At WalkSutra, we understand that a meniscus injury affects much more than the knee.
It affects confidence.
And the trust you once had in every step.

The meniscus is a strong, C-shaped cartilage inside the knee that helps absorb shock, distribute forces, improve stability, and protect the joint during movement.
A meniscus injury can occur after a sudden twisting movement or develop gradually as part of age-related changes. Importantly, not every meniscus tear causes symptoms, and not every tear requires surgery.
Successful rehabilitation begins with understanding how your knee functions—not simply what appears on an MRI scan.
Every rehabilitation journey at WalkSutra begins with a comprehensive knee and functional assessment.
We evaluate joint movement, swelling, muscle strength, walking pattern, balance, knee stability, movement quality, functional performance, and the everyday activities that trigger your symptoms.
Instead of asking only,
“How large is the tear?”
We ask,
“How is your knee functioning, and what does it need to move confidently again?”
Because treating an MRI without understanding the person rarely leads to the best outcome.
Our rehabilitation programmes combine evidence-informed physiotherapy, progressive strengthening, movement retraining, balance rehabilitation, neuromuscular training, flexibility exercises, gait correction, manual therapy where clinically appropriate, activity modification, and personalised home rehabilitation programmes.
For individuals undergoing arthroscopic meniscus surgery, we provide structured prehabilitation before surgery and comprehensive post-operative rehabilitation to help restore movement, strength, and confidence throughout recovery.
When clinically appropriate, advanced rehabilitation technologies may complement active rehabilitation. These may include Class IV Laser Therapy, TECAR Therapy, Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES), Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES), Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Training, digital gait analysis, force plate testing, and movement assessment technology. These technologies support rehabilitation but never replace progressive exercise and functional training.
Recovery from a meniscus injury is not simply about reducing pain.
It is about restoring confidence in your knee.
Because rehabilitation is not simply about healing the meniscus.
It is about helping you trust your knee again.
Every rehabilitation programme begins with understanding knee movement, muscle strength, stability, walking mechanics, balance, swelling, and the functional demands of your daily life or sport.
Every meniscus injury is unique. Your rehabilitation programme is designed according to your symptoms, examination findings, imaging results, activity level, and personal goals.
Our rehabilitation combines therapeutic exercise, movement science, neuromuscular training, patient education, and functional progression to improve mobility, restore strength, and support long-term knee health.
When clinically appropriate, rehabilitation may incorporate Class IV Laser Therapy, TECAR Therapy, NMES, Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES), Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Training, digital gait analysis, force plate testing, and movement assessment technology to complement active rehabilitation.
Our goal is not simply to reduce symptoms. We help you regain confidence, restore function, improve performance, and safely return to work, recreation, and sport while reducing the risk of future injury.
A meniscus injury may slow you down.
It does not have to stop you.
Whether your injury happened yesterday or you’ve been living with knee pain for months, our rehabilitation team is here to help you understand the cause, restore healthy movement, and guide you through every stage of recovery with personalised, evidence-informed care.
